Total Loss After Storm

We are the Mai Family and on Thursday January 12 2023. A tornado uprooted a tree and dropped it onto our home. Between the initial damage and water damage from the storm, we have lost everything.

We are grateful that all our family members survived, two and four legged alike, though some of us had a very close call and had to be rescued from under the debris. Now we have the difficult task of rebuilding and recovering. Due medical expenses and the just-before-Christmas cancer diagnosis of one of our cats we did not have renters insurance at the time. It’s been a rough month.

We don’t like asking for help and prefer to take care of ourselves on our own but all this is just too much but we need to now. We have always been the ones to help others and give when we see someone in need, but now we have to reach out and hope that all the kindness and compassion we have given out over the years will be returned now that we are the ones in need.
