Total Forest Fire Loss

Aloha and Hello,
On Saturday, October 17, 2020 the CalWood Fire in Boulder Colorado burnt our dear sister and friend's home to the ground. To make it even worse the only home the local news showed out of all the homes being burned alive in that area was hers. What saved her, her daughter, their cat and their tenants life was two sixteen year old sons. These young men were putting sprinklers on the roof in hopes of saving the home yet the sky suddenly turned red and they could see the flames racing towards them. The sons realized the severity of the situation and immediately took action. They started running and yelling "get the *blank! out of the house now" then pushed their family into their two vehicles and hauled their ass out of there. There was no time to gather anything other than theirselves! The fire was so fast that it surrounded them on the road out. The only way to get to safety was to drive through a wall of fire (which was also on the news ). The family barely escaped with their life yet everything else was left behind.
As far as fire warnings go, there were none. They knew there was a fire fourteen miles away yet when the owner called the fire call center an hour before the fire reached them they were informed that they were not in a mandatory evacuation area and didn't see any immediate threat. This information was horrifically wrong.
My name is Tammy Ash Perkins and I am a native Coloradan. I am one of a tribe of sisters that is deeply affected by the loss of our friends home. At this time any love and support by way of a donation would be extremely helpful. Your donation is not expected yet would help specifically with food, clothing, personal care items, and a place to stay while the reality sets in and the healing process begins.
As far as the overall costs, they are massive. The personal belongings, art, jewelry, in the home alone were priceless. Thank you so much to the immediate Boulder community whom continue to be extremely supportive and generous. So many have come forward to help in some way and so this page was made to make it easier for those who wish to help. Any support you give would allow us to deliver a glimmer of hope when times like this seem dark and make it extremely hard to wake up in the morning.
