Tosha Frith’s Medical expenses

In setting up this account, I remembered meeting Tosha in the early days of our nursing school trials and we became friends. Next to my wife, she is one of the most badass women I have ever met. At this point I can hear laugh and say “That’s nice, but it’s just not true.” Here’s a quick list of her badassery:
⁃ Since nursing school she has worked in the under-appreciated field of psychiatric nursing, where she has worked with mentally ill and suicidal patients all with a calming influence on her patients and coworkers.
⁃ Supported and survived the unbelievably tough situation of seeing her daughter Evie diagnosed and cured from a Wilm’s tumor after a nephrectomy and corresponding treatments.
⁃ Being diagnosed with thyroid cancer and a thyroidectomy.
⁃ To now being diagnosed with triple negative breast cancer. So far she has undergone 4 doses of dense AC chemo and just completed the 4th of 12 Taxol plus Carboplatin weekly treatments. Surgery will be July 10 and recovery will be at least 4 weeks with the no determination yet whether radiation will be needed.

I wanted to have the right words to describe how I and everyone else feels about Tosha and for that I found this piece from Steven Charleston, former Bishop in the Episcopal Church.

“I am thinking about you, thinking about all the good that you have done in this life, all the people you have helped, all the kindness you have shown to others. No, don't shake your head. I know you will want to argue that you are far from saintly and have much to regret, but counting your mistakes is not my job. My calling is to celebrate the goodness within you, to honor you for who you are, to encourage you to keep going so you will discover the next miracle waiting for you around the corner of hope. You go do what you do now. I will be thinking about you, thinking how wonderful you are.”

Tosha...go do what you do and beat cancer!
