Tory Frazier
Donation protected
The Atkinson Sisters (Faye, Dee, Lisa and Janice) are asking for donations on the behalf of our sister, Patricia Atkinson-Cotton. Patricia has been the sole care-giver of her son Tory Frazier who was in a tragic car accident on November 23, 2018. She is unable to work because of this accident in which Tory sustained life threatening injuries. Tory suffered severe head trauma called Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) where he had bleeding on the brain, he had to have a trach tube for breathing, and a feeding tube. The doctors gave him a small chance of living and if he survived he would live his life in a vegetative state.
During the 96 days of being hospitalized, by the grace of God Tory fought through many obstacles. On February 27, 2019 Tory was discharged from Wake Medical Center. Since being discharged, he has been readmitted to WakeMed twice for severe muscle spasms and a seizure. Patricia has to provide 24-hour care for Tory because he is non-verbal, confined to a bed and wheelchair, and still has a feeding tube.
Initially, Tory was getting physical, occupational and speech therapy at home but now that has discontinued. Because of the assistance that is currently not provided in which he so desperately needs, Patricia has to continue to care for him. With that being said, she has exhausted all of her vacation, sick and shared leave and has no income coming in.
Patricia has household bills along with medical and out-of-pocket expenses from supplies and equipment needed to care for Tory. Transportation to and from doctor visits are not covered by medical insurance and require transport by ambulance services or renting a wheelchair accessible van. She also has to worry about Tory’s physical, cognitive and occupational needs on a day to day basis.
We are asking your help in relieving some of the financial stress that goes along with providing 24-hour care for Tory. All donations are appreciated. To help get the word out, please share the link to your Facebook timeline or any social media platform.
