Aponi "butterfly” was found in the streets of Mexico with her nose and ears cut off, chemical burns, a broken tail and her back legs so messed up that had to be amputated. During her healing process, she had fevers on and off which we found out were caused by an MRSA infection in her blood. Her medical needs were very astronomical but her spirit was strong.

At this point, she still has to have bandage changes every 2-3 days. Her amputation is almost healed and we need help with the next medical stage of getting her prosthetics so she can walk “normally” and avoid future hip issues. Without the needed prosthetics, she will eventually have hip problems, her mobility will be limited and she will be in pain for the rest of her life. We just can't let her suffer any more than she has. She still has a lot of life in her. We have made her home-made padded socks and shoes to protect her stumps but she still can't be on her stumps for too long.

Four Suns is a Chinese shar pei / shar pei mix breed rescue but we couldn't say no to this poor pittie.
