Hola! We are Tortilleria Carmelita located in Bensenville, IL. We are a mother - daughter duo turning tradition into something special for our community. My Mom, is the heart of our kitchen - full of wisdom, love and recipes that inspire everything we do. I'm her daughter carrying that passion forward with fresh ideas and a dream to share our culture through food including a household staple - las tortillas! For the past 6 months, we've been working very hard with our goal of our grand opening day before summer 2026 begins.

During this process, both my mother and I have been faced with difficult hardships (personal and financial) that have caused us to delay our mission towards grand opening day. Funds are running low. As first time business owners, we are working, learning and growing through it all. Time waits for no one - not the rent, bills or renovation that still needs to get done. We are so close!

My mother and I are so grateful for the many of you who have expressed your excitement for our opening day. It truly makes us feel good to know our community is supporting our mission to open a Tortilleria (Tortilla Factory) in Bensenville. We are now asking for help from our community and those who believe in this dream just as much as we do. It's been a difficult decision to post this as my mother & are are the type to always 'figure it out' but if there's one thing we've come to learn is that sometimes it's okay to ask for help. When God inspires a dream - He will also make a way... and that includes surrounding you with people who support you; however that may look like.

We truly appreciate every dollar donated that will be used towards completing renovations, product materials and paying rent/bills leading up to opening day.
