Respected by his colleagues for his hard work and dedication throughout his 20 years in policing with the Vancouver Police Department, Torsten has always been someone who could be counted on to support other members both professionally and personally. His friends know Torsten as someone who is always there for them, both in the good times and the bad. Now is the time for us to be there for him.
In addition to his exemplary professional work, Torsten contributes to local communities with his charitable work, including judo instruction for youth. Torsten has set up many fundraising efforts of his own to assist friends in need. In short, Torsten is a leader and a contributor, both in his community as well as within his workplace.
Torsten and his wife were planning a European vacation for this summer of 2023 with their teenage daughter when their tragic loss occurred in early April of 2023. The sudden and heartbreaking loss has impacted Torsten and his daughter in ways that words cannot describe. And yet while grieving from his terrible loss, Torsten has still been there for his friends and family to support them in their own sorrow at losing her.
Now Torsten is hoping to return to Japan this June with his daughter in order to share time with family and grieve together over this unimaginable loss.
Torsten has recently had to fight to get back to work having just recovered from a lengthy injury as a result of a motor vehicle accident which has significantly impacted his family's financial stability.
Torsten has many friends and colleagues who have reached out to see how they can help in his family's time of need. Let's band together to help our friend by assisting with both the travel costs to Japan and the costs of services for his wife.
