Torin's Fight
Donation protected
Friday, March 24th began as any other ordinary day, my cousin was on her way to Iowa with her fiancé and daughter to tour her future college. Torin, Nichole's 6-year-old son was taken to the emergency room by his father David in Thermopolis after presenting some very worrysome symptoms. Upon arriving at the hospital Torin had a seizure and became unresponsive. Doctors and staff worked frantically, running tests, ct scans, to attempt to figure out what was going on. It was quickly determined that he would be life lited to BIllings. We quickly received the dreaded words no family member wants to hear, he is in critical condition. Fortunately, his mama had only made it to Casper for her trip and immediately turned around and raced home to be with him. Torin and Nichole were flown to Billings and arrived at approx 3:30 pm. Very shortly after arriving in Billings Torin stopped breathing, doctors performed a sternum rub on him and were able to get him back. More tests were run including a spinal tap, ultimately diagnosing what we all dreaded. This sweet boy was diagnosed with Bacterial Meningitis. He was then life lited to Primary Children's hospital at about 9 pm. By this time, everyone had kicked into high gear and were frantically doing what family does to help in these kinds of situations. People were flying, driving, staying up all night...whatever needs to be done. Everyone is exhausted and stressed, but holding out hope that he will continue to improve with time, and that there will be no lasting effect of this nearly fatal diagnosis. Torin had an OK night, he is getting the antibiotics his little body needs to fight this off. This page is being set up to attempt to help alleviate at the very least some of the financial burden they are going to be facing. Please keep our family in your prayers!
