Save Georgian Producer (MYI) from 14 yr in Prison

Tornike Sakvarelidze, known by his stage name as MYI, is a Georgian DJ and producer, author of numerous acclaimed EPs and live performances, contributing to the ever-growing Georgian electronic music scene and club culture with his wonderful artistic works.

Unfortunately, he’s another victim of Georgia’s extremely strict and inhumane, zero-tolerance drug policy, which means that anyone, who holds any amount of drugs, is imprisoned from 8 to 20 years.

Tornike was arrested in 2023 year and as the final decision from the court is yet to made, the prosecutor’s office is requesting the huge amount of money as a charge for the non-custodial sentence. In case he doesn’t provide the requested amount, he’s threatened to be imprisoned for 14 years.

His family, which includes the 9 years old child is not capable of providing such an extremely huge amount of money, which means that Tornike might spend more than a decade of his life in prison. Which can be fatal for his Physical and Mental helath.

თორნიკე დააკავეს 2023 წელს და რადგან სასამართლოს საბოლოო გადაწყვეტილება ჯერ არ მიუღია, პროკურატურა საპროცესო შეთანხმების საფუძველზე, პირობითი სასჯელის სანაცვლოდ, ითხოვს კოლოსალურ თანხას. თუ მოთხოვნილი თანხა არ იქნა გადახდილი, მას 14 წლით თავისუფლების აღკვეთა ემუქრება.

მის ოჯახს, რომელშიც მისი 9 წლის შვილიც მოიაზრება, არ შეუძლია ამ რაოდენობის თანხის გადახდა, რაც ნიშნავს იმას, რომ თორნიკემ შესაძლოა სიცოცხლის ათ წელზე მეტი გაატაროს ციხეში, რაც მისი ფიზიკური თუ მენტალური ჯანმრთელობისთვის საბედისწერო იქნება.
