TORNADO TRAGEDY IN ARKANSAS

Hi, My name is Lisa Kakassy and I am raising money to help my niece's in-laws, Donald and Kathy Schmidt, recover after losing their home in Arkansas from the latest tornado. This sweet couple has had more than their share of tragedy. About 10 years ago, their youngest son, who was a policeman, was tragically murdered in the line of duty. The death of their son has left Donald and Kathy with a deep, unending loss and devastated them emotionally.  Then, in November of 2020, Donald had to have his right leg amputated due to complications with his diabetes, and he now struggles with mobility issues.    Kathy has also had the onset of some serious health problems, which is causing her extreme pain and has left her very weak, unable to work, and in need of surgery.  NOW, due to the recent tornado, they are dealing with the loss of their home. Their house was destroyed, and they have lost practically everything.

Seeing the devastation and knowing these dear people causes me to want to help them. I want them to know they matter and that people care they are hurting. I want to help ease some of their concerns of 'how can we possibly come out of this situation? ' I want to encourage them that they are not alone in this journey.
