Tornado Took Vanessa's Home of 40 Years

Vanessa Coleman, a long-time member of the Edera family and all-around great person, tragically lost her home in the recent STL tornado. Please consider joining us to help this kind and caring person get back on her feet. Edera will proudly match all funds contributed to this campaign, all of which will go directly to Vanessa.

A message from Vanessa's daughter, Tomarius Prince:

On May 16, 2025, my mother, Vanessa Coleman, lost everything when an EF3 tornado tore through St. Louis, MO. In just moments, the home she has lived in for over 40 years, our family home for more than 60 years, was completely destroyed and left uninhabitable.

We’re asking for your help to raise $20,000 so she can begin rebuilding her life, starting with housing and essential items.

Unfortunately, the home was not insured. My mom had been denied coverage multiple times simply because of the area she lives in. That means there’s no support from insurance companies, she is truly starting over from scratch.

But this wasn’t just a house. It is and always will be home in every sense of the word.

It’s the place where my late father started a life with my mom. It’s where my siblings and I grew up—where we celebrated holidays, birthdays, and Sunday dinners. Before that, it belonged to my grandparents. For over six decades, this home has stood as a symbol of growth, legacy, and resilience.

It has always been a safe haven. If you know my mama, you know she keeps it real, no sugarcoating it and she has the biggest heart. Whether it’s a hot meal, a place to sleep, or even her last dollar, if someone needs it, she gives it. No hesitation. That’s who she is.

That house reflected her spirit: open, generous, and full of love. To see it wiped away in an instant has been absolutely devastating.

We are beyond grateful that no one was hurt, that’s the greatest blessing. But the emotional and material loss is real. My mom is now facing the pain, uncertainty, and overwhelming task of rebuilding her life.

Every donation, no matter the amount, will go directly toward helping Vanessa find housing, replace necessities, and start over with hope and dignity.

Even if you’re unable to give, please consider sharing this. Your love, kindness, and prayers mean more than we can express.

Thank you for showing up for Vanessa the way she’s always shown up for others.
