On May 16, 2025, a tornado tore through North St. Louis with no sirens, no warning—just chaos. In under 10 minutes, the roof of my home was ripped off, exposing everything inside. My three sons’ clothes, beds, school supplies—gone. My car windows? Shattered. Rain and wind battered through what used to be our safe place.
By the grace of the Most High, my children weren’t home. But we were left with nothing but the clothes on our backs.

✊ WHO I AM
I’m Zanijah—a U.S. Air Force veteran, a full-time mother of three boys, a community educator, and a healer. I’ve poured into others for years—creating guides, giving free resources, teaching people how to reclaim their rights and power. I never expected to have to ask for help like this.
But this time, I can’t patch this up alone.
⸻
WHAT I NEED
This isn’t about comfort—this is about survival and dignity. I’m raising funds to:
• Secure emergency housing (first month + deposit)
• Replace our clothes, beds, and essentials
• Repair my car so I can move safely with my children
• Cover basic food and utilities
• Build a small buffer to prevent another emergency from breaking us
Everything is being documented and accounted for, and any excess will go to helping other displaced families in North STL.
⸻
WHY IT MATTERS
Black mothers like me are always expected to be strong—to be the shelter, the source, the solution. But who shelters us when the storm hits?
This isn’t a charity case—it’s a community call to action.
This isn’t just my story—it’s OURS.

We’ve survived the storm. Now we rebuild.
And when I rise again—and I will—I’m bringing my people with me. Just like I always have. Just like I always will.
Thank you.
