Tornado Recovery for Anita

My name is Mandy Qualls, and I am the daughter of Anita Qualls. She lives near Vanoss, Oklahoma, and has lived in the same house since I was a baby back in 1977. In the pre-dawn hours of May 24, just a day and a half after her 70th birthday, mom's house was hit by a tornado. Mom was able to take shelter in her closet during the storm and thankfully she remained safe while the entire roof was ripped from the house, windows blew out, and the brick walls began to fall. While the house may be a total loss, mom and her almost-22-year-old cat, J.R., were able to escape without injury. Thanks to the community, items were removed from the house within hours, before the next system of storms rolled through. Asbestos insulation and exposure to the elements and debris means much of her belongings were unsalvageable.

Mom is going to need a lot of help with expenses in the near future, including insurance deductibles for the house and car, replacing all her furniture, clothing, and the plethora of other expenses that come with rebuilding your life after a tragedy of this magnitude. We appreciate all donations, no matter the amount, to help fill the financial gaps for my mom as she begins this difficult journey.
