Help the Jernigan Family Rebuild After Tornado Devastation
Donation protected
On Saturday, a large and deadly tornado tore through Tylertown, MS, and took a direct hit on my aunt and uncle’s property. By the grace of God, they and their family survived unharmed, but their home and livelihood were severely impacted. It is likely you've seen the drone videos of their losses already as they've been shown across national news since Saturday.
My uncle’s auto body shop—a small, local business he built from the ground up—was completely destroyed. All the equipment and tools he invested in over the years to support his family are now gone, buried under rubble and scattered across the county. Their home, which they share with their two adult children who have Cerebral Palsy and require motorized wheelchairs, as well as my grandmother who suffers from multiple health issues, sustained catastrophic damage. A large tree crashed through the roof, shifting the house off its foundation and leaving it structurally compromised.
They are currently displaced, staying in a hotel while trying to navigate insurance claims, assess the damage, and figure out how to rebuild their lives. With only one vehicle left after my uncle’s truck was overturned in the storm, it has become even harder for them to manage work, recovery efforts, and medical appointments.
My aunt and uncle are two of the hardest working and most selfless people I've ever known. They have always juggled full-time jobs while caregiving for their family, never asking for anything in return. Right now, they need our help to create some breathing room—to cover emergency living expenses, transportation costs, and the initial steps of recovery while they work toward rebuilding their home, life, and business.
Please consider donating to help them during this critical time. Any amount helps and will go directly toward hotel costs, replacing essential items, vehicle repair or replacement, and keeping them afloat as they navigate the difficult road ahead.
Thank you for your kindness, prayers, and generosity.
