Tornado Damage Relief for Andrea and Tony
Donation protected
On October 20 at approximately 9:30 p.m. a tornado tore through my sister’s neighborhood and two-story apartment complex in Dallas, Texas. Unfortunately, the tornado demolished their second story apartment and almost 100% of their belongings, leaving them homeless. By the grace of God, Andrea and her husband, Tony, survived, along with their two cats. They were both in their apartment when the tornado touched down.
Andrea and Tony do not have family in the area and remain reliant upon the Red Cross and local shelters at this time. My sister also struggles with a mental illness, and she needs medication and counseling. Tony is the sole provider, and while they will be able to sustain themselves with what they have in the next week or so, they are still in great need of basic necessities, food, clothing, and extended shelter. It’s truly a miracle they are still with us today, but an arduous journey remains ahead of them.
Currently, we are looking for cash donations, as sending items from the Chicago-land area to Dallas can prove a bit cumbersome. If you can donate or know anyone who can, your support will be more than appreciated. If you have non-cash items you think are possible (and somewhat easy) to get to Dallas, please contact me.
As I mentioned above, the funding raised will first go towards short-term needs such as medication, basic necessities (non-perishable food items, toiletry items, clothing, cat food), supplemental counseling and temporary housing. Funding will assist in the long term by providing them with a head start to rebuild their life (bed, towels, kitchen appliances, computer, TV, etc.). On behalf of my sister, my brother-in-law and their kitties, thank you for taking the time to read this. Thank you for any support you can offer. Please contact me if you have any questions.
God Bless,
Caroline Butler

Above- Andrea shared a picture from the hotel room they're are currently in. She revealed a few items she was able to salvage from the apartment (some ornaments and a cookie cutter of my mom's and a book and picture I gave her when she moved to Texas). Andrea and Tony are relocating to a local shelter tomorrow.

Andrea and me the last visit she made up to Illinois. Sisters. <3
