TORN - a Short Film
Donation protected
TORN captures the emotional impact of sibling separation on the most vulnerable children in society and hopes to highlight the unbreakable bond between foster siblings.
TORN is a story about two siblings, Ellie and Sam, and their desperate attempt to stay together when faced with the news they will be split up into different foster homes.
It’s the evening after being moved to a temporary emergency foster home following the sudden death of their single mother, who lost her battle with addiction and overdosed on drugs. Uncertainty hangs in the air as they await decisions about their future. But when Ellie overhears the news, one thing is certain; they must leave – and quick. They run away.
Stemming from the nature of their home life, Ellie is very guarded of Sam and assured in her ability to look out for them both. But when the weight of the situation sinks in and circumstances seem hopeless, they must make a choice: keep running or face reality.
