Tori's Hope: A Support Dog for Healing

Hello, my name is Tori. I have suffered with mental health issues since I was twelve years old. I have been hospitalized about 30 times as an inpatient. I am looking to get a good emotional support animal/ psychiatric service animal . I am 25 now and on my longest stretch with no hospital help in two years. I believe I am ready to raise a dog. My mother is a disabled nurse, my father has two forms of stage four cancer. I am currently not working due to my fathers health and need for me to be home, but I am on social security due to my mental health struggles.
Talking to my therapist, and with other research, the most suitable dog for me would be one of the "fab four" which are known for their temperament and trainability. After much dedicated research, I am looking for a smooth collie. Their trainability, durability, empathy, and service ability is what I am looking for in a dog.
Having an animal companion I can take care of, take with me, and raise with my family and friends really motivates me. My dad really wants a dog, and to know I am taken care of when he passes on. I think this is a good way to let him live his dream a little bit, and help me live mine.
I do have a support system lined up for people who can help me raise this dog. Including my family and my boyfriend.
The money I am asking for will all go to the training, health, and maintenance of this dog.
I hope to raise this money by the end of 2025, beginning of 2026.
