Hi, my name is Tori and I’ve known that receiving a gender-affirming surgery has been something I’ve wanted since I was 15 years old. Now, at 28, that goal is within reach, but not without help.
Insurance is capable of handling a lot of the costs, but with a $1,000 deductible and $9,450 out-of-pocket maximum, there is still a sizable chunk left to me to cover. This is still significantly less than it could be, and I feel very blessed to have an insurer that works with a surgeon as great as Dr. Dany Hanna of Hanna Gender Center.
A little about me:
- Despite first questioning my gender at 15, I didn’t come out as a transgender woman until I was 25 years old.
- My life in North Texas is spent with my girlfriend Taylor, our cat Ari, and our dog Boomer.
- I have been a photographer for over 10 years and have spent the last 3 years mainly photographing weddings and fighting game tournaments!
- I am a southern girl through and through! I make biscuits and sweet tea from scratch, love me some Jesus, and am always listening to some country music!
This surgery means that I get the chance to feel truly at home in my own body. It would help to mitigate the most pressing parts of my gender dysphoria and allow me to navigate life with much more comfort and confidence.
Every dollar we raise is one less I need to borrow. Reaching this goal and allowing me to move forward with SRS will mean finally living in a body that reflects my true self and allows me to be seen for who I truly am.
