My name is Maggie, Tori is my wife. She was recently diagnosed with high risk MDS with monosomy 7. This is a type of bone marrow cancer that has a high risk of turning into AML, an aggressive and deadly form of leukemia.
Tori is only 24 years old and this condition is extremely rare for someone her age and gender. Her only chance for a cure is a bone marrow transplant.
Tori is having a bone marrow transplant done at Vanderbilt hospital soon.
She has been unable to work for several months due to being completely dependent on blood and platelet transfusions. She is getting short-term disability which is only 60% of her salary.
I am still working as much as I can to support us but I have had to take off work a lot to take her to appointments and be with her during hospital stays. However when we relocate to Nashville for the transplant I will not be able to work and I have to be with her the entire time. We still have to pay our mortgage and possibly rent for a place down in Vanderbilt as well. We have 3 dogs, 2 cats and a bearded dragon that we must be able to afford food and vet care for as well.
The money we raise will go to our monthly bills, travel expenses, pet care, and Tori’s medical bills. Anything helps!
We never in a million years expected this to happen and the process itself is stressful enough let alone the expenses piling up.
Please consider donating to help my wife and I stay afloat during this difficult time. Thank you ❤️
