Torin's Fund 2018
Torin, born in May 2016, is my little nephew. At nine months old he spent some time in the hospital to address low oxygen levels and sleep apnea. While in the hospital, testing was done and it was discovered that Torin has a rare genetic mutation-COL4A1- which effects many parts of his body (eyes, collagen, blood vessels) and carries a risk for strokes and seizures. Torin has continued to need oxygen around the clock. My sister Sara and Jeremiah (Torin's parents) have tirelessly researched on their own, and have taken him to specialists and alternative doctors in an effort to understand how Torin's body is functioning, to try and help him however they can. He has had surgeries (adenoid and tonsil removal, cataract removal) and been subjected to plenty of poking, prodding and assessments. Torin is a trooper! He continues to have a happy disposition, and his parents and big sister Tessa are ever supportive and loving. Torin is lucky to have such a wonderful family but they cannot help him alone.
Torin has good insurance but there are still out-of-pocket visits and procedures which will be continue to be necessary. Please consider giving to Torin's Medical Fund 2018 and give this family HOPE!
