Torie's Journey: Overcoming Cancer Together

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out on behalf of my amazing mother, Torie, a strong, loving, and resilient woman in her 50s living in Concord, North Carolina. She was recently diagnosed with stage 1 breast cancer, and while we’re incredibly grateful it was caught early, she now faces a long and challenging journey ahead.

Her doctors have determined that the best course of action is a double mastectomy followed by reconstructive plastic surgery. This life-saving surgery and the recovery period will take a huge toll—not just physically and emotionally—but financially as well.

My mom is the sole provider in her household. She works hard every day to make ends meet, and this surgery will mean time away from work. That time off could make it hard for her to cover basic needs, including her mortgage and medical-related expenses. We’re worried about the added stress of financial strain while she’s trying to heal and fight cancer.
