Tor Torkelsen needs our help!

Tor and Joni Torkelsen are examples of a couple dedicated to their faith, family & friends!

Nearing the start of summer 2022, Tor and Joni made plans to sell their house, retire, visit Norway for the summer and start an adventure of a lifetime. Joni has been a nurse and Tor a contractor for many years, as well as dedicated members of True Light Church in Southold, NY and serving the Gideons International (yes, the group that distributes Bibles in almost every hotel - and so much more). All of the above plans started out in motion, but the adventure would take an unexpected turn.

A few weeks before they departed for Norway, Tor was diagnosed with ALS but the couple were determined that through prayer, proper medical direction and full faith in Jesus, they would move forward with their plans. While in Norway, Tor started feeling worse and assumed it was the ALS beginning to worsen. What they soon discovered was an abscess near his upper spine and brain that needed emergency surgery. To make matters more difficult, they needed to transport Tor to Oslo (which was 6 hours away from where they were staying).

Surgery was performed and the diagnosis was bleak. There were several times that Tor could have lost his life but the Lord intervened. Tor has been in the hospital since around Jul 23rd. He was transported recently to a closer hospital to where they were staying but has a road of recovery ahead.

So this is why we are raising funds for this couple: Since, they are in Norway, their current medical insurance does not help. Each transport, surgery and each day in the hospital has been an out of pocket expense for them.

Would you do two things today?

1) If you are a follower of Jesus, would you pray for complete healing for Tor and strength for Joni.

2) Would you consider making a financial donation to assist in the medical bills that they are incurring.
