Hi, my name is AJ.
I am 22 years old and came out as Transgender at 20.
For a long time I felt uncomfortable in my body but I never had the time to realize what I was going through because I was constantly surrounded by stress. I grew up in a neglectful home under impoverished conditions. I found myself alone with my own thoughts for the first time during the pandemic; and after years of struggling to find peace in my own skin, I finally came to terms with the fact that I am a transgender man. Coming to terms with my gender identity has been and continues to be overwhelming. I felt as though coming out at this point in my life would hold me back from being successful and as though I was making my own life more difficult.
It is an exhausting feeling like my body does not belong to me. Slowly I began to feel like myself once I started dressing like the man that I am but I currently experience extreme gender dysphoria surrounding my chest. June 11th was the day I got my first shot of testosterone and began my transition. My gender dysphoria can be crippling some days. I need to take the next steps to receive gender-affirming care and live authentically as myself for my physical and mental wellbeing. I do not have the financial means to cover this procedure and unfortunately I don’t have any support or contact with my family due to various reasons.
I will not be able to cover the costs of my living expenses alone as I will be not working for a little over a month and have been having trouble paying rent due to lack of clients. The amount being asked for only covers my living expenses as well as medication, travel and food expenses when I am not able to work post procedure.
Any amount donated is greatly appreciated and brings me one step closer to my goal so I can truly live to my greatest potential and happiness! All of it will go towards the medical costs and to help me stay afloat after during the recovery process ! Thank you so much for reading this far
Thank you for all your help
