I've known I was gonna need top surgery since 2006. I have been socially and legally transitioning to self actualize for over a decade. I've seen several healthcare providers in relation to my health  and the recommended course of treatment is top surgery!

Each time I saved a little money I ran into setback after setback. I gave up hope for a while that it would happen in order to cope. But I dared to dream in the last couple years as I found myself in a safe and supportive environment!! I even started working as a freelance artist!! RAD!! Things have been looking so good I planned financially for top surgery in 2019. Then my car died and a few other financial disruptions set me back... again. Not the end of the road, just a delay!!! Then my part-time day job had to make the difficult decision to let me go this month due to financial struggles. I'm super thankful I can cover my bills by drawing now!! However, I know realistically this will mean I will not be able to save up the money for top surgery on my own any time again soon.

I'm not gonna lie, watching the opportunity slip through my hands yet again after a decade of trying has been crushing. In a last ditch effort, I'm taking a LEAP OF FAITH by reaching out for financial support. If I need to, I will take the financial hit and go into medical debt, but I can't continue to put my life on hold. I have to TRY!! SO I have put $1,000 of my own savings down to book a surgery date with Dr. Garramone in Miami, Florida.

Dr. Garramone's practice is primarily trans and nonbinary top surgery and I chose him because he is known widely in trans communities for his work. After watching a friend get top surgery through Dr. Garramone, it gave me the confidence to choose Dr. Garramone as well. I know what to expect from the experience and the results. 

The amount I am asking covers the following:

SURGERY----------

$9,000 Dr. Garramone's fee (DUE four weeks prior to surgery: October 16th, 2020)
$2,275 Surgery Center fee (DUE day of surgery: November 17th, 2020)
$300 pathology fee (cash due day of surgery) 


TRAVEL------------

$1,600 Air BnB stay for post-op week
$1,000 flights for me and caregivers & luggage
$800  food for surgery week
$500 lyft/uber
$500 at-home medical supplies: bandaids, silicone tapes, etc
$1,000 3 week recovery leave
