Hello!
I'm Rei (he/him) and I've been told I need to wait 12 years on the NHS for transition. I've been waiting since 2017 or so and I don't fancy another five+ years. I'd be well into my thirties by that point.
Instead, I've gone private. So far I've had my 'diagnosis' and next month I'll be having my endocrinologist appointment. All in all, that's been around £1.5k.
My income sits around the living wage which doesn't allow for much saving, particularly amongst my rather hefty rent and bills.
Top surgery estimates seem to sit between 6-12k so for the sake of this GFM I've gone with 9000. I have some money aside which will also contribute but it's by no means enough to even partially cover such an undertaking.
All funds donated to this page will be used in relation to transition. I am aiming for free hormones - if that doesn't work out, this will be included in my overall expenses. If I receive a quote for surgery that is far higher than my guess here, I'll adjust accordingly. But funds here may be used before surgery - to reach surgery and maintain transition in between, as well as funding surgery itself.
I'm by no means small chested, E/F at certain periods of my life and I'd really, really love to yeet that. As I start hormones, I want to be able to achieve my ideal body too - and all my dysphoria is centered around my chest. As I begin testosterone, I suspect that will only worsen as my body changes to its ideal - but remains chest-ed.
I will aim to find as much as I can myself, but in the meantime, I do really appreciate any assistance towards this overall process. Thank you ;-;
Money raised in this GFM will be used on:
- Saving for top surgery (6-12k estimate)
- Maintaining transition whilst I save for surgery via Testosterone (Hopefully free, if not ~£30/month by my guess)
- any additional gender related expenses. (Eg. Weight loss/gain requires new binder in the meantime).
