About me
Hi! My name is Rin, my pronouns are they/them. My hobbies are skiing, video games, art and gardening. I'm terrible at writing about myself, and can't even begin to express how excited I am that I might be able to get this surgery. After years of physical and mental pain, I want to finally be able to be myself!
The surgery
For those of you who have not heard of top surgery, here is a link to mayo clinic's definition.
I've been binding since I was around 12 years old, and it's starting to have more and more of an effect on my life. The constant back pain, heat of basically wearing an extra thick layer of clothing, not being able to exercise or wear the clothes I am comfortable in, and especially the mental pain of having to look in the mirror each day and see a part of my body that I've always despised. I finally decided I'd had enough.
The goal
My goal is to raise $8,000 total, this will cover the surgery, recovery, and post-operation fees.
If anything happens and I am not able to get the surgery before I move across the country (February 2022), all of the money that has been saved for the surgery will go towards the surgery where I move to, but I will have to restart the surgery process and may take an extra year.
