Hi everybody, my name is Sawyer Chan and I put off creating a GoFundMe for the longest time because I didn’t want to ask for other people's money. I wanted to be able to fund my top surgery by myself but as time went on it became abundantly clear I wouldn't be able to pull this off by myself for at least 5-10 years. I realized I cannot wait 5 or more years. Every time I move I get a reminder of how physically uncomfortable I am inside my own body. My body dysmorphia has grown (and continues to grow) to the point where I feel I don't have any other option, but to ask others for help. Trans healthcare may not be something most people think about, but it is something I, and most other pre-op trans people, think about in our daily lives. Insurance only covers certain expenses and sadly they do not view top surgery as something “important” or life-threatening, but for me it is, for me this is my mental health that continues to decline due to body dysmorphia, for me this is the pain I have in my back every day due to slouching to hide my chest. Even with a binder, I feel uncomfortable sitting and standing straight.


Living with this chest is insufferable and mentally exhausting so IF you can spare any amount for me, I would be incredibly grateful to you for helping me change my life and get to finally feel comfortable in my own skin.
