TOP SURGERY FREEDOM FOR QUENTIN

Donation protected
Hello!!! Hi! I'm so grateful to be getting top surgery (double mastectomy) on July 25th!

I am Quentin if you don't know me, I'm a guy who wasn't fully living until 2023 when I began my transition. I am at the next crucial step which is top surgery! I needed to be free of these things since I got my first binder behind my parents back at 14 years old. Since then I went on and off binding for years, back and forth thinking maybe if I put this off another 5 years it'll just go away.
Well, it didn't.
The only thing that went away was the extreme discomfort once I began to see changes from HRT. I am truly happier on this earth knowing there is something that could make me look how I feel on the inside, I know many folks' eyes glaze over when they read that until they too have made some change that alters their lives for the better.

Having top surgery means not only will my clothes fit properly, I will live my life as I should have for the last 27 years. My chest brings me the most dysphoria and the fact I've tolerated it this long has been by diligence as a Barista, a job that rarely provides decent insurance to make the procedure affordable.

Almost.

With insurance, my out-of-pocket cost (edited! hospital fee included now) is $2,300. I am traveling across the state to the city, and I am required to stay nearby until my drains are removed (a little over a week). The total amount I am asking for includes food, supplies for post-recovery, travel expenses, hospital co-pay and bills, as well as bills that cannot be covered by temporary disability from NYS.

Recovery will take a little over 6 weeks and I will be out of work until I can lift my arms over my big head again.

Anything will help me during this time, sharing it or donating when you're able to, send this far and wide... I will be so grateful I'll sing a Bastille cover for you (it'll be terrible)

Thank you for being here, for reading, and for considering helping me out. You can reach me by my socials for questions and by god may my recovery be easy.
