My name is Syd and I have been on my transition journey for over 13 years and you can help me take the next big step!!

I have known that I'm trans since I was about 17 and started seeking help to start my medical transition just after my 20th birthday. Unfortunately, at this point I was required to see a therapist to be "diagnosed" with gender dysphoria and the therapist I was assigned refused to diagnose me correctly. Her reasoning was the hormones would make my depression from my gender dysphoria worse. Instead I was forced to go to group therapy where no one who understood what I was going through and put on medication that made my mental health immensely worse. After all this being proven to be worse for me, I was finally given the proper diagnosis so I could see a doctor to start hrt, but I had lost my health insurance shortly after that. After that devastation, my mental health spiraled out of control and it took me another 7 years and moving states to get stable health insurance so I could start hrt.

Now after 3.5 years on hrt, lots of research on surgeons (especially finding someone who not only will work on bigger bodies, but also does amazing work), and waiting patiently on a few different wait-lists the time has come. I am finally due for top surgery!!! The final hurdle for this final step for me though is the cost.

I have received so much love and support from my community before now to feel more comfortable in my body and now I am asking for a little more help to make my healing process with as little stress as possible.
