Hey I'm Harley (they/them, he/him), I'm trans and been losing my sparkle quite rapidly due to feeling stuck in a body that doesn't belong to me. I've told myself I need stop waiting to feel comfortable in my body which is why I am crowd funding for top surgery. I've undergone a big weight loss journey in order to feel more gender euphoric & comfortable in my body but I am still struggling with chest dysphoria and gender dysphoria generally. As it stands the NHS wait times are outrageous for gender affirming care and funding this surgery myself is also difficult due to being disabled. So I am asking my community for help in funding part of that cost. I feel very privileged to be in a position where I am able to do this, where a lot of my trans siblings are not able too.

Unfortunately I don't have the support from my family to undergo this procedure which is another cost factor I have to account for as I will need extra assistance through the healing stage post procedure. I've seen a few people in the UK now go towards packaged deals to Turkey for surgery for a smaller cost £4-6k opposed to UK private pricing £8.5-12k. This seems like a viable option.

I've had a hard time convincing myself (and convincing from others) to ask for help with this as I am a very private person and this is something that gives me big feels and needs for me to be vulnerable about. I struggle to bind my chest due to a traumatic event as a child and causes awful anxiety and panic attacks and even after years of therapy trying to minimise this, I unfortunately still cannot bind my chest.

I've known for a long time that I'm trans and have always felt dysphoric in my gender & body, it would make the world of difference to get this surgery.

Hey so currently 10% of the way which is AMAZING I've been in contact with a surgical team in Turkey to discuss what's available to me (turkey is seeming very likely) and is a nice feeling cause I'm not feeling so stuck!
