Top Chop!


There are many surgeries involved in a Trans person’s journey- this one is for my Top Surgery folx! Hello beautiful angel babies, my name is Hann Cowger and I’m a Trans Male comedian based out of New Orleans. I’m raising money for my Top Surgery & the associated costs.

What I would give to be able to pop off my shirt and go for a dip in the heat of the New Orleans summer in a body that is completely my own...

Being Trans is expensive & uncomfortable sometimes!

The recovery is pretty intense & I will need lots of help from close friends with mobility/lifting/changing bandages/draining tubes/showering/getting dressed/ taking meds/making meals.

All of THAT extreme vulnerability aside:

6 weeks of not being able to work.
my employers are incredibly supportive and I will have my jobs awaiting my return!

My top surgery isn’t a traditional top surgery bc I carry the HER2 gene for hormonal/breast cancer & will *potentially* have to have lymph nodes scooped out/removed.

Then there’s resurfacing/reconstruction/sculpting
so I have an actual chest/pecs/nipples instead of just gnarly

I’m thinking if I can get insurance to cover it, the range with bills, transportation, food, care & inability to work would be about 5-10K

My goal is to have this done and healed BEFORE September 1st- I wanna walk my sister down the aisle at her wedding in the body I’m meant to have.

I wanna be a strong and confident little brother & not her uncomfortable, lumpy, sweaty little brother in the itchy painful binder under his suit that “sort of” fits.

Believe me, I will take a giant gnarly scar and no nipples over what I have now- to be in a body where it feels like my own is absolutely everything to me- but to be in a body that feels like my own AND I love? I cry thinking about how good that would be.

GoFundMe takes percentages of each donation, as well as from the total earned, so we've increased the goal to reflect it.

Main Goal - 10K (Minimum amount for top surgery reached!)

Stretch Goal - $20K (Additional aesthetic surgery achieved & legal name change!)

Name and gender change on birth certificate *require* that I go back to Kansas for vital records update...so I’m factoring in travel expenses and time off for that as well ugh.

Anything additional will be donated to Crescent Care’s Gender Clinic and the Trans Legal Defense and Education Fund. Let's get as high a number as possible!

There will be a few fun events that will be happening in tandem with this gofundme in both New York & New Orleans.  I will post those dates and my actual surgery date details as they are made available.
