Together for Jamaica
My name is Alexa Von Strolley, founder and managing director of TOOKSIE Kay Catering Ltd. and TOOKSIE’S, based in Kingston, Jamaica. For over a decade, we’ve served food that connects people, rooted in care, community, and comfort.
In the wake of Hurricane Melissa, many of our neighboring communities across Trelawny, Montego Bay, Savanna-la-Mar, and Black River have been severely affected. Families who were already vulnerable are now facing food insecurity and daily uncertainty.
As a proudly Jamaican company, we believe that food is more than nourishment, it’s love made visible. In response, our team has committed to preparing and delivering weekly hot lunches for the next five months, beginning with 200 meals sent to Trelawny and Montego Bay.
This campaign will directly fund:
-Ingredients and food supplies
-Packaging and delivery logistics
-Compensation for kitchen and support staff working extended hours
-Transportation to reach affected communities
Every dollar raised goes toward sustaining these community meals; ensuring that families, children, and shelters most impacted by the storm have access to warm, nourishing food as they rebuild their lives.
This effort is entirely community-driven, and all contributions will be transparently managed by the TOOKSIE Kay Catering team. Updates and photos from each distribution will be shared along the way, so donors can see exactly how their support is being used.
Together, we can make sure no table goes empty while Jamaica recovers.
Thank you for your generosity, trust, and love.
