Hello everyone,

My name is Allison and I am fundraising for someone very important to me. Some of you know her, some of you don't. Her name is Tookie and she is a total angel, sweetest girl, love of my life and an absolute butter-ball. Last week, Tookie chased a cat off of my very tall bed. Since she is no longer a spring chicken, the landing ruptured her cranial cruciate ligament (basically she tore her ACL). With this kind of injury, if it goes unattended, there is a high risk that her other knee suffers the same fate. This injury will form scar tissue on it's own, but it is unlikely she will be able to run and walking will become increasingly more difficult as she ages. The surgery she is getting is called a TPLO, it is an extremely invasive surgery, but it is the only solution to ensure her mobility (trust me, I have explored every alternative).

This surgery is very expensive. I am not particularly comfortable asking people for money, everyone has their own personal challenges they are dealing with and I understand money is usually one of them. If you are able to give to this fundraiser, both Tookie and I will be eternally grateful. If you are one of the lucky souls who knows Tookie, you know how kind, loving and lively she is. If you have not yet met her, I hope you one day get the chance to, she really is something special. The reality is, she is getting this surgery even if I have to sell a kidney, I would just really prefer not to go that route.
