Too close for comfort

My name is Ashley and many of you know my father, David Gilliland. Most of you know, but for those that don’t, he is a family oriented man who provides at all costs. Unfortunately, he contracted COVID three weeks ago that ravaged his body. We didn’t know if he was going to make it. He had internal bleeding, multi-system organ failure and spent over a week in the ICU fighting for his life. It was a very scary time for myself, my sister and my mother, who has not left his side.

I thank the Lord that he finally turned the corner and started to stabilize, but it has left long lasting effects and much uncertainty for the future. He is still in the hospital working with PT to gain strength and once he is released he will need many follow up appointments in Birmingham. We don’t know when or if he’ll be able to return to work.
