* UPDATE: Tony has came home and needs 24 hour care. He is receiving home therapy daily. He is eating normally, but still needs lots of care as he is unable to walk by himself (yet). His speech and understanding is still very difficult due to global aphasia. He is in need of much financial help. His ongoing medical and hygiene supplies are costly.

Hello, my name is Amanda. I am Tony's daughter. I am raising money for Tony to help pay his home bills, medical expenses and supplies, and caretaking expenses while he is recovering from a stroke.
You may know Tony as "Big Daddy Vita" or the "Hot Dog Man" of Greensboro. He is well known for being the Downtown Greensboro Late-Night hot dog man. He spent many years serving the Downtown and UNCG college area the best hot dogs in town. He is also known as “Big Daddy Vita” and enjoyed going out and playing music locally at blues jams and benefits.
Tony has suffered a massive stroke and is in need of support and funding to help save his home while he is at the hospital and attending rehab. The hemorrhage stroke that he had, affected his ability to talk, eat, and the movement of his entire right side of his body. He is receiving multiple therapy sessions every few days to help his speech, movement, and eating ability. Tony is right side dominant and right handed so this is quite the challenge for him. He may or may not recover enough to drive or ride his harley again. Tony has since spent time in ICU and was transferred to a separate room in the hospital for further recovery. He will also need to attend a skilled rehab center before he is able to come home and continue recovery. Hemorrhage strokes of this degree can take an average of 1 year to 2 years for full recovery if possible.
The funds will be used for Tony’s medical bills, mortgage, living expenses, and also to help support my role in being his primary caretaker since I had to cut my working hours to a minimum in order to care of him.
Every little bit helps! Tony and I will be extremely grateful for whatever support and funds you are able to contribute.
