Tony's road to skating again!
Donation protected
Hi, my name is Itzel, my family and I are fundraising for my brother's road to recovery! Some of you may know me and some of you may not but many of you know Tony. If you know anything about him you know that he is a very upbeat, unique, funny young man who is always great to be around.
However, I will give you a little background about Tony if you don't know him. All his life he has been a super active and athletic kid, and now, young adult. For years he and I practiced karate together which later progressed into him getting into wrestling and MMA. I will never forget all the memories and friends he has made throughout the years that we trained, either at Hamilton middle school or at Paradigm. He was always the little scrawny yet strong little kid who had an insane amount of energy and never knew how to calm down lol. I feel like his playfulness is the way that he made the most friends while training. He was always cracking jokes either while beating you up or choking you out, that is at least, how I always remembered it. But as Tony started getting older, he started turning away from combat sports and showing his interest in skateboarding! Many would probably think that he was somewhat within the older age to pick up such a difficult sport/hobby, but he was always very determined to get better at it. Every day he would skate for most of the day and come back home to tell me what new trick he picked up or how much better he was getting. It was crazy to me that after so many years of having nothing to do with skateboarding his athletic abilities were helping him now with a sport that was completely different. I now, can't imagine him going a day without skating which is a main reason as to why this has inspired us to fundraise towards getting him on a board again.
Due to a very unfortunate accident that happened just two days ago, my brother suffered two very serious injuries to his legs. Although his right leg was completely shattered, the doctors were able to save it and pin it back together. However, the left leg was not as easy to fix and underwent an amputation right below the knee. We never expected for any of this to happen to such a young man and especially not someone like Tony. However, he is in the best of spirits and one of the first things that he has told every single person that has come to visit him is, “you better believe I’m going to be skating again soon”. It makes us very excited to see him be so hopeful and ready to hop on a skateboard again (with a prosthetic). We know this goal won’t be easy to obtain but know that with how determined he is, he can get through anything and someday skate again.
We are very aware that his recovery will come with a lot of highs and lows, but we are hoping for the best outcome. One of the main lows that we see in the near future, is the thought of him having to pay for all of the medical bills that come along with his recovery. Unfortunately, Tony does not have medical insurance, and this will make everything harder for him. So, we ask that during these trying moments you keep Tony’s health and recovery in your thoughts. Any contribution will be greatly appreciated and will help him to recover easier. Whether that be an actual donation or even just a visitation or reaching out to him to show your concern, anything is appreciated. He will need all the support he can get! All that support will also be what will play a big role in keeping him in good spirits and keep him motivated towards his goal of someday skating again. There is a long road ahead, but we have full faith that Tony will get back on his feet and board again one day soon. Thank you for your thought’s, prayers, and any donations.
