Veterans Therapy Macaw

Meet my friend, Tony.  A good and decent human being, he is always ready to help someone else, even to his disadvantage.  He's an Army Veteran and disabled, having served from 1977-1979.  Tony has also served with the Red Cross doing Disaster Relief during hurricanes Katrina and Ike, working in the disaster zone, and to a lesser extent for storms Rita, Wilma, and Gustov.  He did Logistical Support, helping to procure and place equipment, supplies, and personnel where most needed.  From the mid 90's through the early 2000's, Tony was a First Responder and Instructor, working as a Life Guard on the local river.  Now Tony needs our help. Tony's friend and companion for the last 27 years was Tia, a Harlequin Macaw.  The VA recognized Tia as Tony's Social Support Animal. providing needed Emotional and Social Support.  Tia passed suddenly and without warning a few days ago leaving Tony devastated. She should have outlived him.  He desperately needs anothe bird, and his resources a very limited.  It will cost him upwards of $4,000.00 to replace Tia.  Money he does not have.  Please find it in  your hearts and wallets to help him replace his much loved and needed companion.

Any extra dollars will be donated to the VA's Bird Rescue in Los Angeles that helps pair rescued birds with veterans who need companionship.   Thank You all again for your generosity!  Tony
