My name is Sandra and I am raising funds for my son Tony's medical bills and living expenses during his cancer treatments. Tony was diagnosed with a second cancer in June, only a month after graduating from Georgetown University and only a couple of weeks after starting his first full-time job and renting his first apartment.
A little health background
Tony already had colon cancer when he was 10 years old. After removing most of his colon, he also had to go through 12 rounds of chemotherapy and a few more surgeries afterward. This first diagnosis led the doctors to perform genetic testing, and they found out he has Lynch Syndrome, which he inherited from me and his father. We were left in shock as nothing in our family histories pointed to this.
Now
Tony has been diagnosed with oral cancer, and he will go through extensive treatments:
Surgery to remove the tumor, which will leave him with a few teeth being removed and a hole in the roof of his mouth;
Therapy to relearn how to eat and talk due to the hole he will be left with;
Radiation 5 days/week for 6-7 weeks;
Immunotherapy every 3 weeks for a year;
Most likely some chemotherapy;
Finally, he will need a surgical prosthetic and maybe some mouth reconstruction.
Today, I am asking you to support him through this hard time. He won't have any income while he is going through all these treatments, rehabilitation, and recovery. On top of that, not all the medical bills will be covered.
My mother's heart will be forever thankful, and so will he be too.
