Tonya’s Gracie Anne
Donation protected
If you know my mom Tonya, you know that she is as selfless as they come. She helps out any way she can, no matter what. I’ve seen her drop everything, just to help someone in need. She is the most giving person I’ve ever known and I’m always in awe over how she does so much for others.
Also, if you know my mom, you know how much she loves her Gracie Anne. She loves that dog with her whole heart and Gracie is such a lovable lab. Both of my daughters are just smitten by Gracie; when we talk about seeing my parents, the first thing they ask is, “Are we going to see Gracie too?!” She is 6 years old with so much life and car rides ahead of her.
Unfortunately, Gracie started limping in October and her mobility got rapidly worse. My mom made multiple trips to the vet, with no answers. I personally watched Gracie struggle to stand up and walk, and it broke my heart. After finally seeing a specialist in VA this week, my parents got devastating news. Gracie has an ACL tear in both her back legs. The vet gave them 3 options: keep her comfortable with pain meds until she can no longer walk, spend almost $20,000 for surgery and rehabilitate her back to her old self, or the unimaginable thought of putting her down.
To some, spending that kind of money on a pet isn’t an option. So if you are able and willing, or if my mom or stepdad has ever helped you in any way, please consider donating. Your donation will help alleviate the financial burden of getting their Gracie back to her old self. Thank you and Merry Christmas!!!
