My name is Tonya and I am in a lot of pain and in desperate need of surgery. At the moment it is very difficult for me chew, causing tremendous pain and sensitivity. My teeth are starting to rot at the root and my Prosthodontist warned me that if I keep prolonging this surgery, the infection in my teeth can enter my bloodstream and cause brain-related problems such as inflammation, destruction of neurons, and memory loss.
Due to these risks, I have had to schedule the surgery for 10/1/2020.
The most humiliating thing I must do is to ask for help because this surgery is in no way cheap. The emergency dental work will cost me $10,000.
I am used to taking care of others, but I now need your help. For 18 years I have worked to help people who use drugs get access to the services they need. Outside of work, I continue this work and have helped over hundreds of young women, men and children get into drug treatment and stable housing. Through my job I have dental insurance that might cover up to $2,000, but that means I will have to come up with the additional $8,000 at minimum (and potentially the full $10,000).
I am probably one of the last people here on this earth that cries out for help, but here I am. I am humbly asking for donations so that this problem won’t cause other health problems for me. $1, $5, or anything that you can assist me with will be appreciated from my heart.
Having the work done will not only help me health wise, but it will help me be able to smile and have a little more confidence in myself. If you can donate, I will forever be eternally grateful and if you can’t I want to thank you for just reading my story.
