On Saturday, Sept. 5th, 2020 we will have a Celebration of Life for Tony Moore.
His fight with Metastatic Melanoma sadly ended on July 28th. With his loving wife and mother by his side, he passed away. Only 44 years old he leaves behind many who loved him.
We want to thank everyone who donated to his cancer fight and to those who sent prayers however, this fight isn't over. Tony would want us to fight for his family so we are asking for continued support for his wife, Rachelle, and their two children, Aidan (13) and Taylor (22). All donations will go to Rachelle to help with the heavy burden of memorial costs, as well as, daily living expenses. He did not have life insurance so Rachelle must now face a future as a single parent and with the expenses of raising a 13-year-old son. Tony wanted so desperately to be around for his children. He wanted to be able to teach his son, Aidan to drive and to one day walk his daughter, Taylor down the aisle. These things won't happen now- no husband or dad by their side -but we can still help this family by providing some financial support that will ease the burden of their new reality. Any amount that you can give would be helpful. If you are unable to donate then please share this post. Scroll down to read more about who you are helping.
Let us give you a bit of background on Tony and his family.
During the last two years of their fight with his cancer, Tony and Rachelle have been struggling to handle everything financially and had finally exhausted all means. We approached them a year ago about starting a fund and they flatly refused. Tony was a proud man and wanted to handle this privately. The time has come where the family can no longer do this without help.
Tony met Rachelle in high school in small-town Stony Plain, Alberta. High school sweethearts, they went their own ways after graduating. A few years later Tony called Rachelle up out of the blue and asked her out on a date. He took her to the movies to see Jurassic Park. That was the first of many dates to follow. They became inseparable and soon moved in together. Next came their daughter, Taylor ( now 22) and son, Aidan who followed nine years later (now 13). Tony finally put a ring on Rachelle’s finger to make it official although those two kids had already pretty much sealed the deal. They recently celebrated 10 years of official marriage but they have been together for 23 years and known each other for 29 years.
Soul mates destined for each other. (see the photo of them as teens and as a married couple)

Tony had always been a very loving and devoted dad. He would do anything to get a laugh out of his children. He even had two tattoos on his arms written in Chinese characters: Daddy’s little girl and Daddy’s little boy along with their initials.
Tony was the middle child between two brothers, Bobby, the oldest, and Jonathan. His brothers, along with his mom, Cindy Cuddington, and dad, Bob Moore were always around rallying to provide whatever support they could.
Life seemed good until he discovered an odd-shaped mole on his neck. He had it removed. The pathology came back as non-malignant. So, no big deal. However, 6 months later, he found a lump in his neck and this time the news wasn’t good. May 16th, 2018, he found out he had stage 3b melanoma cancer. Melanoma is more dangerous than other skin cancers because it’s much more likely to spread to other parts of the body if not caught and treated early.
On June 8th, 2018 Tony had a long and intense surgery to remove all the lymph nodes in his neck area as well as some nerves. After the surgery, he wanted to get matching tattoos so Rachelle would always remember that she had been his rock through everything.
He chose turtles because he loved them and had them everywhere! In the house, on his shoes, and in the yard. Even his Father’s Day present from Rachelle was a turtle water bottle that said, I have OTD, obsessive turtle disorder. (See the photo with matching turtle tattoos)
A year later he was talking about getting back to the gym as he was feeling weak, and he thought that might help. On June 5, 2019, he went for a CT scan, and this time the news was devastating.
He was diagnosed with Terminal Stage 4 Metastatic Melanoma with a mass discovered on his lower bowel, liver, and other lymph nodes. The fight was about to get real. Surgery was not an option for him. They told him he had 7 months to live without treatment and maybe 3-5 years with. He was only 43 years old! Unfortunately Tony could no longer continue working, due to the treatment side effects, and suddenly they were a one-income household.
Tony was a fighter and with his wife, Rachelle, and family by his side, he was determined to give it his all. He tried immunotherapy, gene-targeted therapy, and radiation. He was also on numerous medications. But the tumors were aggressive and left him with punishing pain.
In June 2020, as they were about to celebrate their 10th wedding anniversary they received the devasting news that he had three brain tumors.
On July 16, 2020, he was admitted to the Cross-Cancer Institute in Edmonton, Alberta for radiation treatment in hope of shrinking the tumors in his brain, chest, and arm. Rachelle was a constant by his side. (She is seen in the photo with Tony holding her hand as she comforts him).
Sadly, on July 28th, 2020, Tony passed away in the middle of the night but he was not alone. Rachelle and his mom, Cindy were by his side, as they were continuously for the final days of his life. We take some comfort in knowing that he is finally at peace and free from pain.
Please consider making a donation for his wife and children. Any amount would be appreciated and if you are unable to donate then please share and circulate this page or support them with your prayers.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for those who have supported Tony in the past and for those that continue to support his family through this difficult time.
Love,
Donna (sister-in-law) and Lana (niece)
