Dear Friends and Family,
After almost 76 years of a clean bill of health, Tony Wilson has been diagnosed with cancer. The cancer started on his tongue and has spread to the lymph nodes under his chin. The process to get the cancer into remission is not going to be easy, physically or mentally.
Since the cancer is in his neck and mouth region, he will have to go to the dentist to make sure his teeth are in good shape to move forward with treatment. If not, he may have to have some teeth removed. This is just adding more disappointment to the whole ordeal.
The doctors will be using radiation and chemo therapy to zap the cancer. He has a mass on the back left side of his tongue. They will not be removing the mass since that would entail removing the tongue, and we will not be having that!!
The radiation will be the toughest part, making his throat feel like it’s on fire. This means he won’t be able to eat or drink during treatment. Keeping him hydrated and nourished is the doctors top priority through this, so he will have a feeding tube to help him stay healthy.
Tony will be staying with his daughter, Hannah, at her house in Lockhart during the treatment. You can reach out to her via Facebook if needed.
We are asking friends and family to please help in whatever way you can. These medical bills are going to be extreme, and we want him to be able to focus on healing.
Tony has been a big contributor to the San Marcos community, so let’s pull together and help this loving, kind, generous man get through this difficult time.
