Tony Williams Funeral Fund

Update: 4/24/23 My dad passed away at home surrounded by family yesterday. He was completely surrounded by so much love and care.

Hi everyone, my name is Jewel and I'm creating this GoFundMe for my dad, Tony Williams. My dad has recently come home on hospice care and our family is beginning to prepare for his funeral. We are heartbroken to share this news with everyone that cares about him and loves him and we are devastated to be losing our dad. I realize this may come as a shock to many.. In November 2022, a tumor was found on his kidney, at the time they didn't know if the tumor was malignant or benign. After taking a blood test and bone test, we were told on December 29th that he was cancer free. We celebrated his health and prayed that his kidney/tumor removal surgery would go successfully. His surgery was successfully performed on January 19th, removing his kidney and the tumor. During the surgery, they had to remove his spleen which had attached itself to his kidney, as well as reconstruct his aorta. He made it out of surgery and on January 23rd, while he was still in recovery, they informed him that the tumor was in fact cancerous and that the cancer had spread to his lungs. We were initially told that this was something he could fight, until we were later informed that the cancer in his lungs was stage 4. He has no spleen and only one kidney, which even with dialysis three days a week has not begun to work enough to take place of losing the other. He also lives with 45% of a working heart due to a heart attack he had in 2014, as well as a brain tumor. With all of these factors considered, chemo is not an option. On Sunday, February 26th, my dad was released from a 10-day hospital stay to come home with end-of-life hospice care so that he can get comfortable and pass at home surrounded by family and loved ones. Despite all of these health issues my dad has endured over the years he has remained a loving, hardworking, single father of 3. He is a generous and special friend to many, a loving brother and uncle. This news is heartbreaking to our family and we are hoping more than anything to give our dad the funeral and burial near his Grandmother that he has asked for in his final wishes.
