On behalf of my friend Tessa Dore and her family, specifically her father Tony Nemorin, i thought i would create a way for those who have been asking to send some money to help replace the money he gave in kindness.
Tessa and her family are a member of the bunyip community and the first ones to cook home cooked meals for anyone in going through anything.
So if you have a couple of extra dollars that you would like to donate, thank you ❤️
Here's a copy of what she wrote on socials to raise awareness:
"This is my 73 year old Dad Tony. My very silly but big hearted Dad. He works at a hardware shop in Warragul & also runs his own small handyman business. He works 6 days a week sometimes more, this man just never stops & busts his arse day in, day out!
Today when leaving his local gym Snap in Warragul he was approached by a couple in a white Audi. They gave him a sad story of how they were expecting a baby, had lost everything, hadn’t eaten in days & how they needed some money to get to Perth embassy to re issue their passports & be able to get home to their family in Dubai.
My Dad withdrew $5000, $5000 of his hard earnt & hard saved money to give to this couple. They exchanged phone numbers & the man handed my dad some of his gold jewellery & fake Rolex watch promising to meet up with him on Monday and receive his money back.
Still expecting he’d get his money back, he told his family. I took him straight to the Warragul police station where we were told that because it was a ‘business deal’ it was a civil matter and he would have to hire lawyers to fight for his money.
Dad is a broken man tonight & feeling pretty damn silly! These people were so ‘nice’ & his heart broke for them. They even hugged Dad abd seemed so grateful. Some times it hurts being kind! If you see Dad out n about- be sure to give him a smile or say gday just to remind him there are still so many beautiful people in this world!
Sharing in hope that this doesn’t happen to anyone else & somehow that the karma train hits these bastards bloody hard!"
