I've tried not to have to ask for help, but we're out of options.

We're on the verge of losing our home.

Let me rewind.

In late 2023, I lost my job after an abusive manager drove me into a nervous breakdown.

I had been hired as a senior engineer, with the understanding that my manager would mentor me into the role. Then he quit. His replacement treated every misstep as intentional disobedience. He berated me, refused apologies, and denied me even a 5-minute breather when I said I needed one. His constant abuse left me unable to eat for days from the anxiety spikes whenever we would have an incident.

Eventually, I took FMLA to recover. Five weeks later, when I returned, I was dismissed.

Since then, I’ve poured myself into moving forward. I finished my Master’s degree in cybersecurity, earned four certifications (including CISSP), and worked hard to build my skills. But the job market is brutal. Despite widening my search to nearly anything that could keep us afloat, I still can’t find work that covers our needs.

I’ve tried everything:

  • I built a small 3D printing business.
  • I tutor cybersecurity and IT students.
  • I wrote and published a book.
  • I deliver with DoorDash, Uber Eats, and GrubHub whenever I can.
  • I’ve sold my drum kit, one of my ferrets, my oldest 3D printer, and I’m still trying to sell more — our cockatiels, our other ferret, my fish tanks, my tarantulas, my kayaks. Anything that can bring in a little cash.

When I say I’m trying everything I can, I mean it.

Yes, I’ve applied for McDonald’s, Target, and other entry-level jobs. But those won’t even cover the basics. We’d still fall behind.

I do have some unique plans in the works — things that could save our situation entirely. But they take time. Time I don’t currently have.

And that’s the heart of this fundraiser: we need both money and time. And money can buy us the time we need.

If we can raise two months of mortgage payments by mid-October, we can keep our house, and thanks to end-of-year 3D print sales, we should be able to make it clear into the spring — which should be enough time for my long-term plans to come to fruition.

If we raise more, that buys us even more time.

Stretch Goal:
If donations go beyond our immediate need, I plan to invest that into streamlining my 3D printing business so it becomes a more stable source of supplemental income. Think of it as helping us build a stronger safety net for the future.

So if we get to that point, I’d love to give something back. Everyone who contributes will receive a small 3D-printed token of thanks — a tangible reminder that you helped hold us together when things were falling apart.

Can you help us bridge the gap? Every gift, no matter the size, truly matters.

Don't ask me why it says this is organized by "Tony &". My profile has my actual name on it. I don't get it either.
