Tony Hollingshead Medical Bills

Donation protected
My brother, Tony Hollingshead, will be hitting some tough times. Although the journey has just begun, it will be a long one. Everything is happening very fast, but it all began when he went in for a routine physical. He has had issues with kidney stones before, and suspected this again.
They ran the CT scan to investigate, and instead of kidney stones, they found a golf ball size tumor. It was essentially on his spine, so they were not able to cut it out. With medical advice, GOOD NEWS was received! They felt that it was small enough to shrink with treatment! Great!
After a couple of treatments on this tumor, they decided to run a full body CT scan. Then things started coming into perspective. They found two more spots on his skull. The placement of these led them to run more tests and ultimately, a bone marrow biopsy.
No worries, people get these done all the time, and they come back negative. Surely this will happen with my big brother. Most big brothers are almost legends (according to their younger siblings), and mine is no different.
We could not have been more wrong. Tests results came back to devastate everyone in the know. He had been diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. In other words, bone marrow cancer. It essentially attacks the plasma cells in the bone marrow. With no punches being pulled, and being blunt, (like a lot of cancers) there is no cure for this Myeloma. There is not a specific area that can get radiation to fight the cancer. There is nothing to cut out. There is no tumor that can be eradicated.
As my older brother, we fought all the time. Everyone with older siblings knows what Im talking about. But we are also BROTHERS.
I remember how hard I cried when we dropped him off so that he could go to Basic Training. It was the hardest thing in my life that far. He went to serve in the Navy, and became a SeaBee. We were all very proud. He was stationed in San Diego, CA; Oxnard, CA and Adak, Alaska. He was "in the sh%@" of the Somalian Conflict in Mogadishu, Somalia.
The rest, as everyone who knows him, is history. He would give up anything for his family and friends. He works tirelessly to deliver mail (sometimes probably late, but....)
The foreseeable future includes trips to the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN every 4-6 weeks. Countless pills every day. Treatments in Sioux City every week. Bone weakness. Body weakness due to the treatments. Most importantly, not being able to do the physical things that he loves.
It goes without saying that these costs are ASTRONOMICAL.
Your donation will go directly to Tony and Karrie, but everyone involved will be grateful. I know that cancer affects almost everyone in one way or the other. But it sings a different tune when it serenades you. We never thought that it would hit this close to home, so please put yourself in those shoes.

They are having a benefit, in Sioux City, on Sunday, April 23rd. For those who are not able to attend (or see this late) PLEASE reach deep for someone that we all care so much about.

Thank you very much in advance!
