In January 2021, Tony  was diagnosed with glioblastoma, an aggressive form of brain cancer. Tony bravely went through extensive treatment for the past 11 months before passing away on December 10 . Adelita (Meka) has been Tony’s greatest cheerleader, caretaker, and support during this difficult time. His sons Albert and “little” Tony (15) mourn the loss of their father along with the love of his life, Meka, and other family and friends. The medical treatment for Tony has created a challenging financial situation for Meka and their family – cancer treatment bills, lost work – and now Meka and their boys are facing the sudden funeral expenses while they mourn the loss of their dear Tony.

Tony and Meka have expressed their tremendous gratitude for the love, kindness and support they have received during this past year. Let’s help them with this final demonstration of support to help them in this time of need. Tony had been working to prepare for the education foundation for his 15 year old son “Little” Tony until the unexpected medical expenses drained any hope for that. Any additional amount to be able to help Meka continue (and fulfill) Tony’s dream for “Little” Tony’s education is greatly appreciated.

This once strong, former Division 1 basketball player humbly allowed 6 men to help him physically that special day, having just been discharged from the hospital the day prior. As he exchanged his vows with Meka sitting in his wheelchair, his smile from ear to ear, the joy and love they felt and display to each other was infectious – all while battling this debilitating cancer and fighting for his life.
