Tony gets the CHOP: Gender Affirming Surgery

HELLO!

My name is Anthony James Ogilvie, welcome to my GoFundMe! I’m raising money to help me and my partner pay for my gender affirming surgery and the aftermath, including recovery and funds to support my legal name change.

I have known since childhood that I was different and something wasn’t right. I never felt comfortable in the clothes I was given, and ever since puberty, I have not felt comfortable in my body.

This surgery won’t magically fix all of my problems, but it will help my body on my journey to feel the way my brain feels. This journey started after coming out and beginning hormone replacement therapy. Starting hormone therapy was life saving and so important for my growth as a human. This surgery is the next step in that journey. If you have any extra funds to spare, please consider making a donation!

The surgery costs are high. Ideally, donations will go towards paying for my surgery and my lost income while I am in the recovery process and unable to work. This surgery will limit my mobility significantly while I am recovering. I have a very physical job and won’t be able to work for a minimum of six weeks, significantly effecting our income for the month. Any extra funds that aren’t used for the surgery and recovery costs, will be put towards the cost of changing my legal documents. (Ideally, I’d also like to get some new clothes as I have lost a lot of weight, and I’m about to lose a lot more!)
