On Monday night, our 2 year old Rottweiler Tonka went from completely normal to almost unresponsive within the space of three or four hours.
We took him in to Wheat Ridge Animal Hospital, our local 24 hour emergency vet hospital. They have extensive services available, including animal neurology, cardiology, and more.
Tonka’s lungs showed up almost white with pneumonia in scans, and we knew he was in for a hard fight. On Thursday, his vet asked if we would accept high flow O2 treatment, which could potentially save him, but would cost $1k a day, which we knew would probably take us well over $10k for his treatment. (ETA: the final total is *gulp* just under $17k.)
Some of the people who know and love Tonka have asked whether we’d open a Go Fund Me. After some soul searching (and crunching some numbers), we decided we would.
If you can help, we’d be so appreciative. Thank you for being willing to help out our sweet puppers, who is just barely over two years old.
