Antoinette Wooden is one of more than 27 million Americans who don’t have health insurance. Each month, she spends over five-hundred dollars on necessary medications for conditions she’ll live with for the rest of her life.
Several months ago, she had her tonsils removed, at her own expense. Then, on April 20, Toni got very ill. She became very dizzy and was unable to feel her leg. Her partner rushed her to the hospital, where they discovered that she had a blood clot in her lung, and now has a pulmonary embolism.
The life-saving blood thinners Toni needed when she was released from the hospital cost over eleven-hundred dollars. Several days later she was back in the hospital and was treated for severe sciatica, which is another long-term condition.
Anyone who knows Toni, know she is always one of the first to offer help to others. To be a friend of hers is to know that you have someone in your corner who will lend her significant skills and indomitable strength to those in need. She has gone through multiple health crises in the last few months, and she needs to be lifted, the way she uplifts others.
Our goal is $9000 in donations, which will go toward hospital, doctor, and prescription bills. Please donate and share! #TeamToni
